Home-cooked Pahadi food. The first of many bonfires.

Day 2 · The forest

Into the oaks and rhododendrons. No trail markers, just your guide.

Sunrise yoga

Gentle stretches on the ridge. Optional but worth the early alarm.

Parathas, eggs, chai. Fuel for the day.

Forest trail begins

Oak and rhododendron forest. Your guide picks the route by reading the morning light.

Learn to identify wild herbs, make rope from bark, start a fire without matches.

Day 3 · The village

A family opens their home. You learn how the mountains live.

No alarm. Wake to birdsong. Breakfast when you’re ready.

Walk the lanes, meet the residents, see the school, the temple, the water source.

A local family’s kitchen. Dal, roti, sabzi on a wood-fired chulha.

Help in the fields or just watch. Learn how food grows at 2,400m.

Day 4 · The adventure

The high day. 6 km up to a meadow where the silence is total.

Chai and biscuits. The trail is best in morning light.

Meadow hike begins

6 km climb through forest to an open meadow at 3,200m. Steady pace.

Summit meadow

Grass, silence, and the snow wall. You stay for an hour.

Lunch at altitude

Whatever you’ve carried tastes better at 3,200m.

Descend to camp

Tired legs, full chest. Hot chai waiting at camp.

Last bonfire

The final night. People who were strangers five days ago.

Last morning. Breakfast stretched long. Addresses exchanged.
