Day by day
Day 1Arrive Joshimath250 km drive · ~9 hrs
Your driver picks you up from Rishikesh or Haridwar and takes you to Joshimath at 1,875m. The town is small and the air is already noticeably cold. Check-in, dinner, and a walk to the Narsingh temple before bed.

Day 2Auli cable car + ski introduction4.1 km gondola · 3,049m peak
The 4.1 km cable car — one of Asia's longest — lifts you from 1,875m to 3,049m in 20 minutes. Nanda Devi (7,816m) fills the horizon. First-time skiers get a 2-hour beginner lesson on the gentle slope; experienced skiers can access the main runs.
Ski equipment rental included. Instructor included.
Day 3Full day skiing + Gorson meadow3 km snowshoe walk + ski day
A full day on the slopes with your instructor. In the afternoon you walk 3 km to Gorson Bugyal — a high-altitude meadow with unobstructed views of Trishul, Nanda Devi, and Dunagiri. Snowshoes provided.
Gorson at 3,056m. Clear days required for peak views.
Day 4Joshimath bazaar + return250 km drive · ~9 hrs
A slow morning in the Joshimath market — woollen shawls, local honey, mountain spices. If you want one more run on the slopes, a half-day cable car ticket is available. Evening drive back to Rishikesh.
Shankaracharya math visit optional before departure.
