Day by day
Day 1Arrive in Rishikesh0 km trek · transfer day
You arrive at Haridwar or Rishikesh — whichever is closer. Your driver picks you up, settles you into a guesthouse near Triveni Ghat, and you spend the evening watching the Ganga aarti before an early night.
Pickup from Haridwar or Rishikesh railway station.
Day 2Rishikesh → Devprayag → Rudraprayag → Joshimath250 km drive · ~9 hrs
An early start along the Badrinath highway. You stop at Devprayag to see where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi merge into the Ganga — one of the most dramatic confluences in the Himalayas. Lunch at Rudraprayag, then the last stretch into Joshimath.

Day 3Joshimath → Badrinath darshan → Mana village45 km · 1.5 hrs each way
The main event. You enter Badrinath before 7 am for the Abhishek aarti when the shrine is quietest. After darshan you walk 3 km to Mana — the last village before Tibet — for chai at the last dhaba in India and a look at Vyas Gufa.

Day 4Rest day — Auli cable car optionOptional 15 km · 30 min
A slow morning. If you want activity, the cable car from Joshimath to Auli takes 20 minutes and puts you at 2,500m with a full Nanda Devi panorama. If you want rest, the Shankaracharya math and Narsingh temple in Joshimath are both worth an hour of your time.
Optional: Auli gondola, Gorson Bugyal short walk.
Day 5Return to Rishikesh250 km drive · ~9 hrs
Breakfast at the hotel, then the long but beautiful drive back down the valley. You reach Rishikesh by evening with the Himalayan corridor still vivid in your memory.
Full day drive, drop at Rishikesh or Haridwar.
