About this route
The complete Dehradun to Badrinath taxi ride — 320 km climbing from the Doon valley at 640m to the sacred Badrinath temple at 3,133m. This is the most popular route for Char Dham pilgrims arriving by train or flight to Dehradun. You'll drive through Rishikesh, cross five river confluences (prayags), pass through Joshimath, and arrive at one of India's holiest shrines. The drive is long but our experienced Pahadi drivers know every hairpin on this road. We recommend breaking the journey at Joshimath overnight if you're travelling with elders or children.
